Savills Australia welcomes new director to Melbourne team

Savills Australia has brought James Girvan on to the capital transactions team.

It’s a return to Savills for Girvan, who brings 13 years’ experience in commercial property agency and valuations to the role.

Relocating from Sydney to Melbourne for the role, Girvan has overseen over $3 billion worth of commercial property transactions.

Those transactions include 231 Elizabeth Street for a reported $350 million, 20 Hunter Street for a reported $200 million and 55 Clarence Street for a reported $170 million.

The comes off the back of Ben Parkinson taking the role of state director of capital transactions in October 2017. The brand hopes the hires can capitalise on businesses looking for new opportunities after missing out in Sydney.

After Parkinson’s appointment in 2017, Savills National head of capital transactions Ian Hetherington said, “The appointment of Ben allows us to capitalise on the significant momentum we have in the Melbourne CBD, having transacted a number of Melbourne landmarks in recent years.”
