There were 16 awards dished out over 4 different categories in the inaugural Annual REA Excellence Awards (AREAs) recognising the property and media industry’s best innovators, marketers and community champions. These awards acknowledged not only our Residential Real Estate industry but also our Commercial brethren, Developers as well as Media Agencies and Clients. From the residential side of the awards night, the following were acknowledged…
Residential real estate agents :
|Game Changer of the Year||Laing+Simmons Corporation, NSW
Laing+Simmons created an enhanced VR technology experience so that buyers anywhere in the world can now see the actual sights, sounds and feel of an off-the-plan apartment, day or night, relative to the floor in the building. The launch of the VR technology received widespread media coverage, and was the catalyst in sustained media interest in real estate VR platforms.
|Excellence in Customer Service||Gavin Rubinstein, Ray White, NSW
In three years Gavin Rubinstein went from being a personal assistant to the no. 1 salesperson in NSW for Ray White and has held the title ever since. In 2015 he was crowned the No. 1 salesperson for the Group worldwide, from 13,000 agents. Gavin’s attention to detail, stay-in-touch program with clients and innovative use of social media keep him at the top of the game.
|Residential Property Campaign of the Year||Century 21 Grant Smith Property, QLD
Grant took an uninsurable and uninhabitable termite-infested property to market. As marketing budget was limited, Grant used media relations to attract local media interest in the property. Once it was on realestate.com.au however, the listing went ‘viral’ on social media and attracted state-based television and radio coverage. The savvy marketing campaign resulted in very happy vendors, selling the property above the reserve price and well exceeding the valuer’s and insurer’s figures.
|Brand Campaign of the Year||“Raise More Hands”, Ray White Corporate, NSW
‘Raise More Hands’ was a 3 month brand campaign designed to create Australia’s largest auction event and raise the number of properties sold by auction through Ray White. Working with News Corp and realestate.com.au, the campaign facilitated 425 more auctions compared to the same time last year, and had 11 qualified franchise enquiries.
Contribution to Community:
|People’s Choice & Judges’ Choice||Hugh Bateman, The Property Shop, NSW
In October 2015 Hugh embarked on a 2900km trip around NSW on a pink tractor to help raise funds and awareness for the McGrath Foundation’s Breast Care Nurses. Through his efforts, Hugh raised in excess of $381,000, the highest individual amount ever raised for the McGrath Foundation.
