Laing+Simmons Parramatta donates $23,400 to Westmead hospital

Real estate agency Laing+Simmons Parramatta has donated $23,400 to Westmead Medical Research Foundation (WMRF) after a successful fundraising ceremony conducted by the office last year.

As part of its agency’s 21st anniversary celebrations held last year, the agency decided to partner with WMRF to raise much-needed funds for medical research and critical care at the Westmead hospital.

The campaign was a huge success, tens of thousands of dollars were raised, and group principal Ray Fayad and principal Caddie Dabaja presented a cheque to the WMRF Board on Wednesday.

“It’s immensely satisfying to be able to support the foundation in this way, in recognition of the vital role it plays in providing critical care and life saving research for people in need,” Fayad said.

“As soon as we announced our plan to donate to Westmead, the support we received from local people flooded in.

“This campaign was our way of giving back to the local community we’ve been part of for the past 21 years. It’s also reminded us how much we value being part of the community and we look forward to calling ourselves locals for many years to come.

“Thank you to all our customers who have supported us throughout this campaign and over the years,” Fayad said.

Westmead Medical Research Foundation Partnerships manager Susie Saba said the support of local companies like Laing+Simmons Parramatta was inspiring.

“These funds will give more people access to the best possible treatment and care,” Saba said.
