CSIRO Acquires The Centre for Liveability Real Estate

"We will research issues that matter to the real estate industry; the impact of the Liveability Features™ on property value, the attractiveness of a property to buyers and tenants and the best way to engage home buyers and tenants in understanding the Liveability Features™ of their property and their potential for comfort and running cost affordability."

In June 2016 CSIRO acquired The Centre for Liveability Real Estate™ and the intellectual property for the Liveability Real Estate™ Framework from Hooker Corporation.

In an official statement, the CSIRO said that “The Liveability Real Estate™ Framework is aspirational and positive, targeting the desirable features of a house that a buyer or seller can transparently seek out, have a conversation about, and ultimately place value on.

CSIRO will work with Real Estate Program Director, Cecille Weldon to expand access to Liveability Real Estate Specialist training to all residential real estate agents in Australia.

The CSIRO says the acquisition of Liveability Real Estate represents the opportunity to engage with professionals in the residential property marketing sector which we have not worked with much in the past. Because it was developed to integrate into existing property marketing processes and has been created by the real estate industry, for the real estate industry, Liveability can act as a bridge between CSIRO research, real estate know-‐how and home owners, renters and investors

They will undertake research to support newly up-‐skilled Liveability Real Estate Specialist sales agents and property managers and use this research and the information provided by our Centre for Liveability Real Estate member agents to improve the quality of residential property across Australia.
