Australasian Real Estate Results Awards 2017 Finalists Announced

The top performing independent real estate agencies and individuals across Australasia have been revealed last week as finalists in the 11th annual Australasian Real Estate Results Awards (ARERAs), to be staged in Sydney next month.

Hosted by the Real Estate Results Network (RERN), the ARERAs is the industry’s pinnacle awards event that recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievers in property throughout Australia and New Zealand.

With more than 160 finalists vying for top honours across 36 categories, the 2017 ARERAs winners will be announced at a Roaring Twenties-themed gala event to be held at Sydney’s International Convention Centre (ICC) on Monday, February 20.

Almost 30 agencies have been named as finalists in 15 agency award categories, alongside the contenders for 21 individual award categories, including Agent of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Rising Star Agency of the Year, New Agent of the Year and Property Management Performer of Year, among others.

RERN CEO Michael Sheargold said this year’s event had recorded the largest number of nominations in the awards’ history, resulting in a greater number of finalists – particularly for the Auctioneer of the Year category, where the contenders have more than doubled since last year.

Sales results for agent finalists in the hotly contested Sales Performer of the Year category have also gone to new heights, with a 50 per cent increase in year on year results.

“We were overwhelmed by the exceptional standard and number of candidates across all award categories,” Mr Sheargold said.

“It makes the judging process extremely challenging but ultimately rewarding as it demonstrates the wealth of talent, dedication and innovation across the independent real estate industry.

“Our Member agencies and their teams have really shown their professionalism and an outstanding level of sales and service in the face of the huge growth in activity over the past 12 to 18 months, the ongoing challenges and opportunities of digital disruption and the ever-increasing demands and expectations of our clients.

“The ARERAs is an opportunity to honour our best performers who continue to inspire their real estate peers and raise the standard within the industry.”

Mr Sheargold congratulated all of the 162 finalists on their excellence in 2016 and said the awards ceremony was a wonderful opportunity for the industry’s movers and shakers to socialise, network and celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months.

“Every one of our finalists should be very proud of making it to this point in the awards process, it is due recognition for their hard work and expertise as independent real estate professionals,” he said.

“The ARERAs recognise the best of the best in our industry and all of the finalists should be congratulated on gaining recognition in these highly-regarded industry awards.

“I look forward to celebrating with the winners and finalists at the gala award ceremony in Sydney next month.”

The ARERAs presentation is a highlight of Kickstart – RERN’s biggest annual conference event, which will take place over two days, Monday February 20 to Tuesday February 21 and will be one of the first major conferences to be held at the newly built ICC Sydney.

Real Estate Results Network (RERN) is Australasia’s leading network of independent agencies, with more than 1200 principals and agents who are Members throughout Australia and New Zealand.
