ARPM 2017 – Are you ready to reconstruct?

The Australasian Residential Property Management Conference (ARPM) is back this year with a revamped program, exciting speakers, new location and a new focus.

This year’s theme is ‘reconstruct’, which focuses on pivoting and adapting the way property management is conducted to keep the customer at the forefront.

The conference is organised by real estate coach and consultant Fiona Blayney, founder and CEO of Real+; a consultancy, training, recruitment and outsourced services business, specialising in estate agency services in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S. Over the past fifteen years Ms Blayney has developed a reputation for being a go-to for all things Property Management.

“What I’d like businesses to be taking away from ARPM is the breaking of thought around what they are doing right now,” Ms Blayney said.

“We need to be taking what we’ve already got, pulling it apart and then putting it back together in a more robust fashion that will solve the current consumer’s problem in a profitable way for our businesses.”

However, Fiona says this isn’t about completely redoing or throwing away everything you’ve done. “It’s about keeping all of the good ingredients while losing the fear of change.”

The conference will be held at a new venue this year, The Star in Sydney, on 27 and 28 August as the popularity of the conference has outgrown smaller venues. Expecting more than 750 real estate professionals this year, Ms Blayney notes this year’s conference will be ARPMs own ‘reconstruction’.

Ms Blayney also says this is a conference for everyone, whether a director or in leasing. “I work very hard on creating a well-rounded program so that no matter what position you hold in the business, you can walk out of the event with both professional and personal takeaways.”

The lineup of sessions and speakers aims to address what Ms Blayney says is the number one challenge facing the industry: how to provide more value to the customer. And she promises that attendees will hear from all types of businesses, including larger businesses both in and outside the industry and how those lessons can be applied to property management businesses.

“In a world where everything is becoming ‘app-ified’ and ‘tech-ified’ we need to provide value to the customer. As a service industry, we need to understand what we need to shift to that mindset. The conference will help attendees take an inward look at the way we do business and answer that question.”

“We need to engage customers and gain loyalty in what is often a disloyal business nowadays. We will go into the modern day thinking of the customer and see how we can supply that level of service to them.”

Speakers include Fiona Connolly, editor of Woman’s Day magazine, who will share the reinvention of the world from print; marketing guru Andy Lark who will speak on the global change from banking to accounting; while Brock Fisher will share service delivery in a new world closer to home. Plus, there will be many other talented speakers over the two-day program.

Early bird registration closes on June 30. Single registration is $845 with group registration (3 or more) $795. Pricing after June 30 is $945 and $845 for group registration. All tickets include entry to the networking party on Sunday, 27 August.
