Property portal myfun.com data has revealed Rose Bay in New South Wales has had the highest rise in interest from Chinese-speaking property seekers in a 12 month period1.
Developed by REA Group, myfun.com is a Chinese language site to search for properties in Australia. The functionality includes map-based searching and neighbourhood information, which has been translated into Mandarin.
Data revealed that suburbs in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland have had the greatest increase in interest from Chinese buyers during 2015, with Rose Bay in New South Wales showing the highest percentage of growth.
Mark Meyer from LJ Levi Real Estate says that Rose Bay has proven to be a key area of interest throughout the year due to its location in Sydney’s East.
“Over the past year we’ve seen a significant increase in the amount of enquiries for properties in Rose Bay. The main requests have been for harbour views, elevation and proximity to reputable private schools,” he said.
REA Group Chief Operating Officer for International Arthur Charlaftis said that advertising on myfun.com offers vendors the opportunity to extend their marketing reach to a larger audience internationally.
“An increasing number of searches for these suburbs on myfun.com is an indication of their popularity with overseas buyers. If you have a property in one of these suburbs and are considering selling, you should speak to an agent about how you can extend your property’s marketing campaign internationally,” he said.
Last week, REA Group announced a new partnership with iProperty Group, which will open up more opportunities for global marketing campaigns as all properties listed on myfun.com will now be syndicated to iProperty’s international section of the site.
“Our recent partnership with iProperty Group will also give vendors the opportunity to market their property to a large and engaged Asian market in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Macao, Indonesia and Thailand,” Mr Charlaftis said.
