The Blue Lunch Raising Funds for Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick

On Friday the 17th October, Highland Property Agents hosted our event of the year, The Blue Lunch at Sealevel Restaurant, Cronulla which was held in support of The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Raising over $16,000 for Breast Cancer at our annual event last year, we set the bar even higher this year, with a clear aim of raising over $100,000 for the ever so deserving Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.

We are extremely pleased to announce that after months of passionate hard work, the team at Highland Property Agents exceeded our goal, raising OVER $130,000 for The Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation is a charity that we hold close to our hearts here at Highland Property Agents, with our team knowing many families within the Sutherland Shire who have been in need of assistance from the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick at times during their children’s lives. The foundation exists to promote the prevention and treatment of illness and injury in children. Their core purpose is to provide significant financial assistance for the support of equipment, research and clinical services at the Hospital. We as a team could not be prouder or more pleased to be presenting our fundraising efforts to this crucial cause.

Heavily supported by Sylvania BMW, Tribe Social Fitness and many more local businesses, the luncheon seated 182 people who were quick to show their support for the cause by purchasing their tickets to the event, along with our corporate sponsors who made a great contribution to the day. Commencing at 12pm, excited attendees filled a bright and colourful space featuring balloons, gift bags, clowns (staff of Highland Property Agents) and even decorative custom designed table runners, boldly featuring the company logos of corporate sponsors. Entertainment was plenty, as music played, the ‘Highland clowns’ graced guests with humorous tricks and banter, as well as our magician, David, who donated his time for the cause and had our guests in stitches at his antics.

As celebratory beer and wines flowed, an exquisite three course lunch was served, carefully chosen and prepared by Sealevel’s passionate local chefs. We had a live auction, whereby an array of extremely generously donated items from local businesses were auctioned off, with all funds raised going directly to the charity. The highest bids of the day went to a Fiji Holiday Package for two people, donated by Kim Newton of MTA Travel, and a game fishing day at Port Stephens, donated by Hayden Fretten of Dick Rowe Marine. Both sold for an impressive $5,000 each. Donated items came from businesses including Sass and Bide, MTA Travel, Forty Winks Caringbah, Chain Reaction, Triple Bull and a variety of other very generous businesses, both locally and nationally.

For the two months prior to the date of the event, the Highland Property Agents team were rallying up donations in the form of tickets in The Blue Lunch Car Raffle. Not only did ticket purchasers help raise funds for The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, they also went in the draw to win a BMW 116i hatch (valued at $44,000)! Drawn at 4pm, the grand prize went to lucky winner, Belinda Smith! The awesome runner-up prize of a 12-month membership and 10 Personal Training sessions at Tribe Social Fitness (valued at $2,000), was taken out by Katie Smith (we don’t think they’re related!), who we hope will love training with the team at Tribe Social Fitness us much as many of us at Highland Property Agents do!

Concluding on an extremely high note, guests happily filed out of Cronulla’s Sealevel Restaurant, carrying an array of items ranging from gift bags, to prizes and new purchases – and even a few cheeky balloons! We know that our guests feel as heart warmed about raising money for The Sydney Children’s Hospital as we do. The extremely proud team at Highland Property Agents hope our hard work and efforts will go towards putting smiles on the faces of many young children in need.
